Radiator Fan Loud When Ac Is On

I replaced water pump and radiator and coolant temp sensor. Two days ago my ac started making a loud humming sound and would atop when got to a speed high enough to spin the ac fan but i started getting worried and it wouldnt happen at night so i checked the fuses on top of the battery and the ac fuse 30amp was fried changed the fuse and now it works perfectly. Thought the fan was supposed to kick on when it reached a certain temperature then goes off once the temp drops.
