Radiator Fan Only Turns On When Ac Is On

When turn off the ac the ac fan runs but the engine fan stops and the check engine light and brake light stay on it kicked out a code po117 so replaced the heat sensor did not help but now kicks out a code po118 temp sensor high i am lost.
